What is ATC?

Automatic Temperature Control/ATC is a unique sensor added to the premium series of Su-vastika UPS. ATC allows our UPS to switch between 6-stage charging based on the outside temperature.

Why is ATC important?

A battery gets adversely affected because of the temperature. ATC allows choosing the right charging stage whenever there is a temperature fluctuation. This is extremely important in places where temperature varies throughout the year. So, when the temperature increases, a generic battery might stop charging, but the Su-vastika premium UPS series with ATC will keep on charging. With this feature, on average, the battery’s lifespan is increased by up to 1 year.

Adaptive Performance Using ATC.

Su-vastika premium UPS with ATC is designed for rough weather conditions. It has an ambient sensor placed right upon it. With advanced Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC) built right into the microprocessor, Su-vastika UPS senses the temperature around it and then makes intelligent adjustments. For example, the temperature is high in summer or hotter regions, so the battery is charged to a lower voltage for the same power backup performance. This saves you some extra bucks while ensuring the battery doesn’t overheat, lose water, or get damaged.

Similarly, in winter or colder places, the temperature is lower, so the battery is charged to a higher boost voltage to ensure you get the required or expected amount of power backup. This makes our UPS with ATC a perfect choice for any climate; from the extremes of Northern America and Europe to the beating heat in Middle-East and South-East Asia, we are ready for a rough world

Understanding the 6-stage charging of our Premium UPS with ATC

Most inverters charges the battery in a flat, linear manner. But just like monotony upsets you, monotonous or flat charging deteriorates battery health. Ideally, 80% of a battery should be fast-charged, while the rest 20% should be charged slowly to avoid overheating and loss of water-topping. With its Generation Four microprocessor, Su-vastika Premium UPS with ATC carries out charging in six thoughtful stages for maximum efficiency in charging.

Smart AVR

What is it?

Smart Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) feature handles voltage fluctuation by switching to the battery power whenever the voltage rises or drops beyond the safe voltage range.

Why is Smart AVR important?

Frequent voltage and frequency fluctuations in households are common occurrences. The moment voltage supply goes down below a certain level; we observe the speed of fans going slow, the blub light dimming, or the tube light blinking frequently. This is called a Low Voltage supply. Also, there are occasions when the voltage jumps high. We all may have observed that as we switch the bulb on, it goes off and gets fused as it cannot withstand a High Voltage spike. These fluctuations damage your costly appliances like fridges, TVs, etc., in the long run.

Smart AVR feature in Su-vastika Premium UPS with ATC ensures a safe power supply to all your appliances, thus safeguarding them from damages caused by voltage fluctuations.

Safe Charging

What is it?

Safe Charging is the ability of a UPS to choose the appropriate stage of charging depending on different parameters.

Isolation Transformer

What is it?

Isolation, also called galvanic isolation, implies that no direct path exists for the current to flow from the source to the load. An isolation transformer provides isolation between the electrical devices and the source powering these devices.

Why is an Isolation Transformer important?

Su-vastika Premium UPS with ATC comes with an Isolation Transformer, where the output power circuit is electrically and physically isolated from the input power circuit. As a result, the isolation transformer provides safety to the users and the appliances.

Bi-Directional Technology

What is it?

A bi-directional technology is a technology that allows for two-way charging due to its ability of two-way conversion—from AC to DC and from DC to AC.

Why is Bi-Directional Technology important?

In the presence of a bidirectional technology in Su-vastika Premium UPS with ATC, the MOSFET circuit converts AC from the power mains into DC to charge the battery. In the absence of current from the mains supply, the same MOSFET converts DC stored in the battery into AC used by the appliances in the house. For charging the battery, the bi-directional technology provides pure DC. It uses pure sine-wave output for discharging, which ultimately increases battery life.

Safe Voltage Range

What is it?

A safe voltage range is important to keep appliances safe during high voltage spikes. The problem is that there could be times when due to a high voltage spike, MCB in your house fails.

Why maintaining Safe Voltage Range is important?

With Su-vastika Premium UPS with ATC ability to maintain Safe Voltage ranges, the appliances will remain safe from high voltage spikes. As it rapidly switches from the mains to the battery. It can take up to 2.5x its load capacity, thus supporting your entire load during that high voltage spike. It also intelligently reminds you to turn off the extra appliances to reduce the load.

Advanced Protection with built-in MCB

What is it?

MCB safeguards your appliances by handling short circuits. However, these can be slow and inefficient at protecting your appliances from damage.

Why is built-in MCB important?

We have designed Su-vastika Premium UPS with ATC  to add a smart layer of protection by building MCB right into the UPS. It’s an inbuilt Special MCB, which trips and protects all your appliances even before the traditional MCB can respond.

Smart Battery Charging Mechanism

What is it?

To maintain the life of a battery, it is important to charge it to 80% quickly, and then for the next 20%, charging has to be slow because the water is hot inside the battery when we are charging. However, most batteries charge in a linear fashion, which ultimately reduces the life of the batteries.

Why is Smart Battery Charging Mechanism important?

Su-vastika Premium UPS with ATC has a charging capacity of 15 Amp which can charge the 150 Ah battery in 10 hours. In the case of Lithium Batteries, we can charge them in 2 to 4 hours and still increase the life cycle by nearly 5 times that of traditional batteries. We do so by following the right charging mechanism that optimizes batteries for longer life. Through the smart battery charging mechanism, we reduce the heating when we are charging it so that water doesn’t evaporate, and the more we control the heating inside, the battery life of the battery is increased.

Ability to charge at low voltage

What is it?

Typically, batteries require a 130V input to charge themselves, but this is not available at every time. Regions with frequent outages and low grid voltages may result in poor or no charging.

Why is it important?

Su-vastika Premium UPS with ATC is equipped with Advanced Circuitry that charges the battery with as low as a 90V input. This means a user doesn’t have to spend his money to buy a costly stabilizer.

Automatic Bypass

What is it?

Automatic Bypass is the ability of UPS to transfer the load to the mains electricity supply when there’s an internal fault or failure.

Why is it important?

When there is a technical error in the UPS, it might not be able to switch the load back to the main supply automatically.

Su-vastika Premium UPS with ATC has a feature of an ‘Automatic bypass system’ which bypasses the Mains supply even when the UPS is faulty.

Fast Switching

What is it?

Transfer time refers to the duration of time it takes the UPS to switch from one state to another. Traditional inverters have higher switching times. This means your appliances will reset during the changeover between mains to backup.

Why is it important?

Su-vastika Premium UPS with ATC has a blazingly fast switching time. It automatically detects a power cut or voltage fluctuation and switches to its backup mode in milliseconds. So you and your appliances won’t even get to know there was a power cut. This means your computer, Wi-Fi, and other critical equipment can run uninterrupted without resetting.

Better charging and discharging cycles

What is it?

The battery sits at the heart of your inverter’s power backup functionality. Charging and Discharging cycles define the life of a battery, and making both these processes efficient is crucial.

Why is it important?

Su-vastika Premium UPS with ATC  has been built to keep your battery healthy. It is designed for efficient charging and discharging, hence keeping the battery running for longer with reduced upkeep efforts and costs.

Pure Sine Waveform

Better Power Quality than mains

What is it?

Pure sine wave technology provides a clean, smooth, and regulated power supply similar to or superior in quality to grid power.

Why is Pure Sine Wave important?

Inverter/UPS with traditional square waveform provide fluctuating power which is not suitable for operating all kinds of devices in the domestic and commercial setup.  The power output of a pure sine wave inverter/UPS by Su-vastika mimics the grid-power quality. Therefore, the efficiency of a pure sine wave inverter/UPS to run the appliances is much higher. It extends power backup, reduces harmonic distortion, saves sensitive appliances from damage, and provides much better performance.

Backup Selection

What is it?

Every battery is built to accept a certain maximum allowed charging speed. A Lithium-Ion battery requires 2-4 hours to get fully charged in a healthy way. Charging the batteries faster than these healthy limits reduces the battery’s life and increases maintenance costs and hassles.

Why is backup selection important?

Su-vastika Premium UPS with ATC is built with the Right Charger that charges batteries at optimum speed. The battery selection switch enables you to select the battery type you have installed so that it can control and optimize the charging speed to keep your battery healthy. This makes Falcon Plus compatible with diverse battery sizes as per user needs for load and backup time.

safe Discharging with LVC

What is it?

Discharging is letting out energy to your appliance. With prolonged usage, battery life is reduced over time. A battery’s Low voltage cut-off (LVC) is the voltage level at which the charger disconnects the load from the battery. It is when the battery stops powering your fans, refrigerators, and other loads in the house.

Why is it important?

Su-vastika Premium UPS with ATC handles this problem of battery fatigue by placing a reserve when the battery is being used to power your appliances and is about to get empoty. It doesn’t let the battery get fully empty or discharged, thus extending the life of the battery. With a Low voltage cut-off (LVC) feature, our UPS prevents the battery from entering the deep discharge stage.

Soft Start

What is it?

Traditional inverters allow a sudden inrush of current. This can be harmful to your appliances

Why is it important?

Su-vastika Premium UPS has a soft start feature that provides a cushioned start-up. It gradually increases the voltage to let your appliances ease in. This prevents electrical and mechanical shocks to sensitive and costly appliances in your house.

Generator Compatible

What is it?

When the local grid fails, you are dependent on your Domestic Power Generators. Ordinary inverters are incompatible with such ACs due to their high fluctuations, which is harmful to sensitive devices.

Why is it important?

Su-vastika Premium UPS with ATC can normalize and adapt to such fluctuations, making it perfect to pair up with Domestic Generators because our UPS has a frequency bypass range of 42Hz – 55Hz.

Ability to handle Overload and Short-circuit

What is it?

When the ups once get overloaded will give 8 times retry before it shuts down. So now when a customer puts extra load which cannot be supported by the UPS, then it switches off immediately and keeps giving a warning.

Then the customer has to reduce the load and go to the ups and reset the front switch, which is very uncomfortable for the customer because, at times, the whole house gets into darkness and the customer has to switch off the load and reach the UPS which is tough as it might be in one corner of the house or office.

Why is it important?

In Su-vastika Premium UPS with ATC, we have added a special overload feature so in case of overload, our ups give you 8 times switching on and offload; in that time customer can reduce the load, and there is no sudden darkness in the house/office.

Our UPS also has a feature of short circuit retries as well. With this feature, our UPS will shut down automatically and start again whenever there is a short circuit. In this process, our UPS will check whether the condition of the short circuit has been eliminated or not if the short circuit has been eliminated, the UPS will start working normally, and if the condition of the short circuit continues, then our UPS will retry 4 times before permanently shut down. To make it operational again, reset the front switch of UPS.
